the pRIx is Rhode Island’s Grand Prix series. With 6 of the state’s most popular races, the pRIx is the ultimate proving ground for individual runners and clubs in the Rhode Island area. It’s the Turtles versus the Road Runners. The Striders versus the Track Club. The Harriers versus the Dash. And it’s all in good fun. The chosen races coincide with existing club race schedules, making it easy to compete on both an interclub and intraclub level.
1 – MAR 27 – Run the Resevoir 15k
2 – JUN 20 – Will Speck 5k
3 – JUL 10 – Little Compton 4.8M
4 – AUG 1 – Run 4 Kerri 4M
5 – SEP 12 – Miriam Hospital / JCCRI 5k (Men)
5 – OCT 3 – PRMH Classic (Women)
6 – DEC 12 – Christmas Run For Hope 10k
Everyone entering the Grand Prix Series will be on a team. If you do not run for a local club, please select “TEAM UNATTATCHED” under the team name. You will get to join other runners that are not on a team and compete as well.
The scoring will be done in “old school” cross country fashion: the top 5 runners from each team score, the next 2 runners push, and the fifth runner breaks any ties. Teams with less than the minimum number of runners will be discarded. Also, you must be signed up for the pRIx prior to the day of the race to be considered for team competition. We will score teams in both the men’s and women’s division at the end of each race.
Master teams (40+) will score the top 3 runners – similar scoring method will apply. And Master runners are allowed to double-dip into the Open Team scoring.
