Many of our fans have been asking for it, so now we have made several types of posts on Strands.com available to non-members. Profile, event, group, and many other posts now have limited visibility to non-members, allowing users to share the things they post with friends who have not yet joined Strands.
Strands has a new look and feel, and now includes customizable themes! Choose from 8 different themes for your background on Strands.com. Whether you are a runner, cyclist, swimmer, skier, or another type of athlete, you can now find something that fits just your style.
Many members of our community have requested better linking with their Nike Plus accounts, so we made some changes and think you will be impressed. If you use Nike Plus to log your workouts, you can import your previous training history to Strands at Preferences > Add Services > Exercise. Also, any workout that is added to Nike Plus in the future will automatically be added to your training log at Strands.
Users can now export their entire training history to a spreadsheet or CSV. When looking at your own profile, you can export by selecting the Export button on the top right of the graph. Then simply select the date range, and voilà!
Triathletes can now add multi-sport details to any workout logged on Strands. Simply click the Details tab when sharing a workout to add the swimming, cycling, and running details.
Many of you have asked for RSS feeds of your workouts, routes, and all other sorts of posts. From http://strands.com/downloads/rss users can now find RSS feeds for the recent workouts, routes, food, pictures, and more. In fact, if you look at the URL of each feed you might just be able to build the perfect feed you're looking for.
Once you find the RSS feed you're looking for, you can add it to your website or blog, link it to your Twitter, or embed it anywhere else on the web. If you have questions, feel free to check out the FAQ and Help pages or contact us.
Watch satellite view video replays of yourself and others in action. Workouts and routes recorded via GPS devices like Garmin watches and iPhones can be viewed in full-screen, and include instantaneous pace/speed, distance, elevation, and heart rate data when available.
We've added support for a new athlete type: Nordic Skier. Along with this new type of user comes new types of workouts. To change your user-type, go to your profile and click to update your Bio.
Whether you are looking at a workout, route, video, or any other kind of post on someone's profile, you can now easily navigate to their previous or next post of that type. Find the post carousel located just under their profile picture, and easily navigate to another post.
Groups can now have more than one owner, giving multiple users the ability to update the group's page.
Over the past months we have created many helpful widgets for the sidebar of pages on Strands.com, and now users can see them all in one place! To see them in the expanded view, simply click the expand arrow located at the top left of the sidebar and watch them move into place.
To enable some or all of the widgets, simply click Personalize at the top of the sidebar and tick the boxes for the widgets you'd like displayed for each page.
